EXPOs are organizations that bring together global information to create a better world. Instead of products, ideas, cultures and projects for a future world are exhibited. EXPO, one of the oldest and largest international events in the world and fittingly named “World’s Fair” is held in five-year intervals and lasts six months. Participants include states, international institutions, NGOs and companies. One of the EXPOs most important traits is their comprehensive themes, which have to hold universal values and be of importance to the whole of humanity. EXPO accelerates urban renewal projects of the respective host city. EXPO exhibition areas are unlimited and participants are permitted to build their own pavilions. İzmir is candidate for EXPO 2020.
